District Court proceedings


In last week’s District Court listings, it was incorrectly reported that Carl S. Shemwell appeared in 86th District Court for a probation violation hearing. He was appearing for a probation review hearing. We apologize for the error.

Christopher A. Cowen, 32, of 2432 Artist Ave., Interlochen — Found in contempt for failure to pay fines and costs; to serve 10 days in jail to be held in abeyance; balance must be paid by May 1 or check into new jail.

Jose D. Murillo, 52, of 10300 N. Foxview Dr., Northport — Pleaded guilty to no valid operator’s license on person; $50 fine; $60 costs; $40 judicial fee.

Bridget J. Schaub, 35, of 2197 S. Popp Rd., Lake Leelanau — Stood mute to operating while intoxicated; must submit to PBTs twice daily; bond continued; pretrial scheduled for Feb. 15.

Robert T. Flees, 25, of 4491 S. Good Harbor Trail. Cedar — Sentenced after pleading guilty to operating while intoxicated; to serve seven days in jail with credit for four days served; $45 judicial fee; $125 expense; $100 fines; $600 costs; $50 crime victim’s fund; must not consume or be in possession of alcohol or illegal drugs; must not enter bars or operate a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol; must attend, cooperate and complete and Impact Weekend; must take and pass daily PBTs for 30 days and them weekly; nine months probation.

Tyler W. Megill, 23, of McAllister Rd., Suttons Bay — Sentenced after pleading guilty to malicious destruction of property; to serve 30 days in jail with credit for one day served; $45 judicial fee; $100 fines; $600 costs; $50 crime victim’s fund; $350 court-appointed attorney fee; $1,250 restitution; ordered not to consume or be in the possession of alcohol or illegal drugs; must not enter bars; must obtain an AA sponsor within 90 days and attend 90 AA meetings with written verification; must submit to random alcohol screening twice monthly; must attend, cooperate, complete and pay fee for counseling; must take and pass daily PBTs for 90 days; 730 days probation.

Michael S. Bergman, 40, of 191 Nanagosa Tr., Suttons Bay — Sentenced after pleading guilty to second offense intoxicated/impaired driving; to serve 60 days in jail with credit for 28 days served; $45 judicial fee; $200 fine; $800 costs; $50 crime victim’s fund; $125 Sheriff’s Department expense; $340 court-appointed attorney fees; ordered not to consume or be in the possession of alcohol or illegal drugs; must not enter bars or operate a motor vehicle after consuming alcohol; must obtain an AA sponsor and attend three AA/NA meetings per week with written verification; must submit to random drug screening twice per month; must attend, cooperate, complete and pay for counseling and submit to a substance abuse agency for intake and follow through as recommended; to take and pass daily PBTs for 60 days.

Gary L. Irish, 55, of 11116 SW Bay Shore Dr., Traverse City — Pleaded guilty to operating while intoxicated; bond continued; sentence pending.

James K. Campbell, 49, of 6791 S. Lime Lake Rd., Cedar — Defendant failed to appear for arraignment on charge of second offense operating with a suspended license; bond forfeited; bench warrant issued.

Connor C. Landick, 17, of 271 Riverside Dr., Marquette, Mich. —Sentenced after pleading guilty to third degree retail fraud; $100 fine; $200 costs; $45 judicial fee; $50 to crime victim’s fund; must attend to AA meetings per week with written verification; must not consume or be in the possession of alcohol or illegal drugs; must take and pass random drug tests; 12 months probation.

Kyle D. Sadler, 21, of 1998 W. Burdickville Rd., Maple City — Sentenced after pleading guilty to a probation violation; to serve four days in jail; fines and costs preserved; probation revoked.

Alicia M. Shenoskey, 19, of 3746 Peshawbestown Rd., Suttons Bay — Sentenced after pleading guilty to operating with a suspended license; $45 judicial fee; $100 fine; $150 costs; $50 to crime victim’s fund.
