Nominations for the Outstanding Young Farmer award are being accepted by the Grand Traverse Area Jaycees through March 31.

Nominees who exemplify the best characteristics of a farmer between the ages of 21 and 40 will be considered. Winners are determined based on personal contribution in three categories: progress in agricultural career (50 percent); extent of soil and water conservation practices (25 percent); and contributions to the well-being of the community, state and nation (25 percent).
