Glen Lake News

Happy Birthday to Tim Barr, a Valentine baby, and to my right-hand Hot Dogger Merek Roman on his 21st.

What a great day Saturday. The Chili Cook Off at the Glen Arbor Winterfest was attended by over 300 people. The winner in the non-traditional class was Bear Paw Pizza and Market, with second place going to LaBecasse. In the traditional class, first place went to Peace Pole for the second year in a row with second place going to Glen Lake School. Congratulations to all and thank you everyone for participating. The weather was great and everyone had lot of fun. Interesting hat, Alan.

The perch fishing contest held by The Sportsman’s Shop was an equally great success with 97 participants. The big winner was Jeremy Plamondon with a one-pound, 13¼-inch perch. Jeremy won $485; it pays for the bait. Thanks to all the fisher people (politically correct).

The Glen Lake Woman’s Club will hold their March 5 meeting at the Glen Arbor Public Safety Building (the fire department). The program will be fire chief John Dodson showing everyone the equipment. His speaking topic will be, "Who we are and what we do." This should be an extremely interesting meeting and members are encouraged to bring a friend. For more information, call Alyce 334-6087.

Be careful on the ice.
