Jackson, Triebes join board of national GOP federation

Joan Jackson of Northport and Fran Triebes of Maple City have been appointed to serve on the board of directors of the National Federation of Republican Women (NFRW) for 2008-09.

“With the 2008 election just months away, the NFRW is gearing up to help Republicans across the country win races at the local, state and national levels,” NFRW President Shirley Sadler said. “We are pleased that Joan and Fran are going to play a key role in this effort by sharing their talents and ideas with our members across the nation.”

Jackson joined the federation in 1957 and has served twice as a member of the NFRW board of directors. She returns in 2008 to chair the group’s leadership committee.

Triebes, former vice president of the Republican Women’s Federation of Michigan, will join the membership committee.

Founded in 1938, the NFRW is one of the largest women’s political organizations in the country with more than 1,800 local clubs in all 50 states and in U.S. territories. The organization recruits and elects Republican candidates,
advocates the party’s philosophy and initiatives, and empowers women in the political process.
