Board Minutes

The following is a synopsis of the February 12, 2008 regular meeting of the Empire Township Board. A complete copy of the minutes may be obtained by contacting the Clerk.

Supervisor Bolton called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Members present: Neiswonger, Pendleton, and Noonan. Absent: Deering. Minutes of the 01-08-08 regular meeting and 01-16-08 and 02-04-08 special meetings were approved.

Treasurer and Planning reports were heard. Board heard request from Glen Lake Association President, Sarah Litch, for Empire to increase their annual $1,000 contribution to $3,500. Board agreed to review the request at the budget work session.

Actions approved by motions: 1) Appointed Dennis M. Palmer as Board of Review alternate member. 2) Set the Annual Meeting date for March 29, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. 3) Adopted the following Officers Salary Resolutions for presentation at the Annual Meeting: Supervisor-7,200/year; Clerk-20,000/year; Treasurer-18,240/year; Trustees-1200/year. 4) Set a policy that the Empire Township Treasurer’s position includes the duty of township hall scheduler. 5) Established a Township Fire Memorial Fund and restricted its’ use for EMS and Fire purposes exclusively. 6) Amended the 2007/2008 budget. 7) Paid monthly bills.
