A 58-year-old Bingham Township man was injured Friday when his vehicle was struck from behind on Cherry Bend Road.

Jack L. Anderson of Lake Leelanau Drive was driving east, waiting to turn onto Sunset Drive about 7:15 p.m. when his vehicle was rear-ended by another driven by Ryan Smith, 21, of Traverse City, said undersheriff Scott Wooters.

Anderson was transported to Munson Medical Center, where he was treated and released.

Smith was ticketed for failure to stop within an assured and clear distance, Wooters said.
