A $500 scholarship for music study is available through the recently established Carol M. Thomas Memorial Scholarship Fund.
The fund was established in the name of Carol M. Thomas, a member of the Village Voices who died in August. The $500 scholarship now available may be used for private lessons, tuition for a music class or tuition for music camp. Applicants must live in Leelanau County and have an educational level of middle or high school.
Applicants may send a letter to Ann M. Bloomquist, P.O. Box 123, Northport, MI 49670, or by email to kenannbloomquist@yahoo.com. The letter should include name, address, email address, telephone, and area of interest (voice, instrumental, musical theatre). Applicants should also include an essay of 200 words or less indicating what they hope to accomplish. In the case of private study, include the teacher’s name and contact information. For music camp and other classes or workshops, all pertinent information should also be included.
