The Northport Public School Honor Society has chosen the Northport Promise as the beneficiary of its annual fundraising dinner, which will be held Tuesday, March 18.
The event will run from 5 to 7:30 p.m. at Northport School, with tickets $8 for adults and $5 for students.
"The Honor Society decided to raise funds to help the Northport Promise this year," said teacher Liz Lint, the group’s advisor, of the initiative that helps fund Northport students’ post-graduate college or trade school plans. "Five members of the Honor Society are among the seniors who will benefit from the Northport Promise this year and the other members will be beneficiaries, too, as they graduate."
The students plan a pasta dinner, including a choice of Alfredo or marinara sauce, meatballs, salad, garlic bread, and homemade desserts. Members of the Honor Society and the Northport Promise steering committee will prepare and serve the dinner. Hugh Willey will perform during the evening, as will several Northport students.
Tickets are available from Honor Society members, the Filling Station in Northport, Tamarack Gallery in Omena, by calling Lint at 386-5153, or at the door.
