1914-2008

Services were held Monday at St. Michael’s Parish in Suttons Bay for Frances Jane Oscar of Suttons Bay who died March 7 at Tendercare Health Center of Leelanau. She was 93.

She was born Sept. 24, 1914, in Bingham Township, the daughter of Casimer Kuemin and Bertha Kaltenbach. On June 6, 1939, at St. Michael’s Parish in Suttons Bay, she married Christian Frederick Oscar, who preceded her in death on Sept. 12, 1994.

She was a lifelong member and staunch supporter of St. Michael’s Parish. She was a member of the Altar Society and helped with many church activities. She enjoyed sewing, cooking, and playing euchre. She also loved children, animals, nature and, especially, her cats.

She is survived by her brother, Lawrence (Phyllis) Kuemin of Traverse City.

She was also predeceased by her sister, Cecilia.
