Prospective school parents interested in learning more about St. Mary School in Lake Leelanau are invited to a dinner on Wednesday, April 16, in the school cafeteria.
The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with school tours and conversation, and a complimentary dinner will follow at 6:30 p.m. Presentations after dinner will include information on academic programs, student achievement, extra-curricular activities, religious education, athletics, busing, tuition and scholarships, and areas of parent involvement. Time will be included for questions and answers.
Marty Mugerian, a St. Mary junior, will speak about his years as a student at the school, and parents with students entering kindergarten will also have an opportunity to meet with teacher Colette Petras. Appointments are currently being scheduled for kindergarten roundup, scheduled for Tuesday, April 22.
St. Mary School serves Christian families from Leelanau, Grand Traverse and Benzie counties. Approximately 7 to 10 percent of the student enrollment is from non-Catholic families, and scholarships are available to both Catholic and non-Catholic students. Enrollment openings are available at most grade levels.
Those planning to attend the prospective parent event are asked to call Mary Holmes at 256-9670 ext. 501.
Complimentary child care will be provided in the preschool.
