Leslye Wuerful, general manager and chief financial officer of the Traverse City Beach Bums minor league baseball team, will be the featured guest speaker of the Glen Lake Woman’s Club next week.

Wuerful, of Solon Township, will tell members about her family’s dream of having a professional baseball team in the area. Her husband, John, is chief executive officer of Wuerful Sports Development and the Beach Bums. Their son, Jason, is vice president/director of baseball operations.

The meeting will be held Wednesday, April 2, at noon at Glen Lake Community Reformed Church in Burdickville.

For 71 years, the Glen Lake Woman’s Club has raised money to donate to the community. The current focus of the club is to raise money for scholarships that will go to Glen Lake students who attend Northwestern Michigan College. All of the money raised at the Glen Lake Art Fair in July will also go toward the scholarships.
