The drive for $140,000 to build and equip the Leelanau Memorial Hospital at Northport will start Monday, Fred A. Dechow, drive chairman, announced this week.

Northport residents at a public meeting called by the Village Council approved 42-24 the site selected by Consumers Power Company for erection of a sub-station to improve electrical service in Northport and the northern half of Leelanau county.

Construction of a modern rustic church in a woodland setting for the Christian Science Society will begin this spring on Route 109 at the corner of the Day Forest Estate near Glen Arbor. Estimated cost is $37,000.
