A benefit concert featuring three area bands be held Sunday at the InsideOut Art Gallery in Traverse City to raise funds for NMC Safe Passage.

The music begins at 2:30 p.m. with the Ragbirds, Ultraviolet Hippoptamus and Thelonious Getdown performing. Tickets are $15 in advance, $20 at the door and may be purchase at the art gallery, located at 229 Garland St., Traverse City, and other Traverse City businesses.

Proceeds from the concert will go to NMC Safe Passage, a student group working to improve the lives of the poorest, at-risk children of families who work in the community of the Guatemala City garbage dump. The students plan to use funds from the concert to travel to Guatemala and volunteer their services at the Reinforcement Center established by the national Safe Passage group.
