An event to benefit the Leelanau Christian Neighbors (LCN) Food Pantry is set for Saturday, April 19, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Suttons Bay.

The need has never been higher. The downturn in the economy and higher fuel and food costs increased the need for assistance from Leelanau Christian Neighbors’ services by 65 percent last year.

Donations will be accepted at the gathering, with music provided by Hugh Willey of Northport and refreshments served.

Those attending will learn about financial help being provided by LCN to the needy as well as food provisions. Information will also be available about the local baby pantry.

Tickets can be purchased at the door for $5 apiece or through member churches in Leelanau County.
