Douglas and Nancy Sherman were
married on Feb. 19, 1958

Douglas and Nancy Sherman of Northport observed their golden wedding anniversary on Feb. 19. They were joined by their family for a dinner celebration, and shortly thereafter began a 5-week vacation to Arizona, California and Mexico.
Douglas Sherman and the former Patty Filar were married on Feb. 19, 1958, at Maple Grove Methodist Church in Columbus, Ohio, where they both grew up and spent their lives until they retired to their cottage in Northport in 1992. Mr. Sherman is retired from ARA Services Inc., where he was a division manager, while Mrs. Sherman “practiced Homemaking 101” and did various volunteer work.
They have a daughter, Jan (Mark) Morgan, and two grandsons.
