1962-2008

A funeral service was held Monday for Sandra Jo (Wooters) Mills of Maple City who died April 1 in her home. She was 45.

She was born in Lansing on May 11, 1962, the daughter of Pete Wooters and Jo (Hamilton) Wooters of Traverse City. On Sept. 15, 1984, in Traverse City, she married Chris Mills of Marion, Ind., who survives.

She taught eighth grade science at Traverse City West Junior High for 12 years. Since 1998, she and her family have devoted time to traveling the world in pursuit of things like glaciers, whales, fossils, icebergs and new friends.

She is also survived by her two sons, Scott and Dan; her sister, Susie (Wooters) Jackson of Grand Ledge; and a brother, Scott Wooters of Traverse City.
