Empire Township Board MinutesThe following is a synopsis of the April 8, 2008 regular meeting of the

Empire Township Board. A complete copy of the minutes may be obtained by contacting the Clerk.
Supervisor Bolton called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Members present: Deering, Neiswonger, Pendleton, and Noonan. Minutes of the 03-11-08 regular meeting and the 03-29-08 annual, budget, and special meetings were approved.
Treasurer and Planning reports were heard. Campground Report: Board will place an ad for a new campground manager.
Supervisor Report: Supervisor explained that Kasson Township voted to not contract with Empire for EMS and fire services. As a first step, Bill will check with Glen Arbor to see if this will result in a lesser contract cost due to the reduction of service area.
George Wilson explained that recycling is now accepting # 1, 2, and 5 plastics and will be accepting #1 – 7 in the near future.
Actions approved by motions: 1) Adopted an amendment to the pension plan to remove the Fire Chief as an eligible Pension Plan employee, effective April 1, 2008. 2) Paid monthly bills.
