Les and Debby Disch are taking a well deserved break from the Omena News so your mystery writers are at work. How wonderful to wake to snow this past weekend. Winter just doesn’t want to leave us. Sorry, all you snowbirds.

Omena Potluck this past week was hosted by Allan and Joann Dalzell, and Georgiana Hamma. The crowd was small but a good time was had by all. Club 21 will be having their White Elephant Sale on May 7, so start getting your items ready.

The Leelanau County Planning Department is now taking appointments for the April 19 and May 17 household hazardous waste drop-offs.

Frieda Putnam is recovering comfortably from surgery. Nina Lingaur was at the 4-H expo expedition.

Len Cowgill is enjoying the new car you see around town.

Luke Robinson is here checking on the progress of the remodel project at the Rule cottage. Judy and Bruce Balas are back from their 2-week vacation in Florida. Delcie White is back to enjoy the summer in paradise, and Cheryl Huffman is here from Illinois visiting with her mother, Sonny, for a long weekend.

Kristi Fischer is planning a special celebration for her son Caleb Stanley Kickbush’s third birthday. Happy birthday wishes also go to Karon Smith. Victor was seen at the Knot this week.
