Hobbs, O'Brien exchange vows


Married: Cortney Jo Hobbs
and Jason Goodrich O'Brien

Cortney Jo Hobbs and Jason Goodrich O'Brien, both of Grand Rapids and originally from Traverse City, were united in marriage on Nov. 3, 2007 at Trinity Lutheran Church in Traverse City.

The ceremony was performed by the Rev. Raymond Pollatz, who was the bride’s pastor when she was a student at Trinity Lutheran School. A reception followed at the Hagerty Center in Traverse City.

The maid of honor was the bride’s sister, Annette Hobbs of Brooklyn, N.Y. The bridesmaids were Jennifer Morton of Grand Rapids, Mariah Bard of Traverse City, Holly Terrell of Grand Rapids, and Brigett Beckwith of Traverse City. Andra Kucharczyck of Sault Ste. Marie, Mich., a cousin of the bride, was a junior bridesmaid. Kayla Richardson of Traverse City, a cousin of the groom, was the flower girl, and Nicholas Falardeau of Grand Rapids of Grand Rapids was the ring bearer.

Best man was Dan Kennedy of Chicago, a friend of the groom’s. Groomsmen were the groom’s brother, Dan O’Brien of East Lansing, the bride’s cousin, Scott Goldammaer of East Lansing, Brandon Russell of Grand Rapids, and Brian Beckwith of Traverse City. Cody Richardson of Traverse City, the groom’s godson, was a junior groomsmen and the ushers were Brendon Beecy of Cleveland and Neil O’Brien of Traverse City.

The bride’s parents are Dean and Brenda Hobbs of Traverse City. She is a graduate of Grand Valley State University, where she earned a degree in language and literature, and is a second grade teacher at Our Saviour Lutheran School in Grand Rapids.

The groom’s parent’s are Robert and Laurie O’Brien of Bingham Township. He is a graduate of Grand Valley State University, where he earned a degree in operations management, and is employed as a logistics manager at Meijer’s corporate headquarters in Grand Rapids.

To celebrate their wedding, the couple took several side trips and readied their new home in Grand Rapids.
