'Collage' to feature S-B talent

Suttons Bay School will present its seventh annual "collage" on Friday, May 2.

COLORFUL ARTWORK is just part of
Suttons Bay Schools' Collage, a spring
celebration of the arts.

Sponsored by the Friends of the Fine Arts, the event features a variety of short student acts and performances. Included will be interpretive dance, vocal solos, high school choir singing from Dance Evolution, drama, small instrumental ensembles and bands, animation and film and more.

All performers are middle and high school students from Suttons Bay School.

Doors will open at 5:30 p.m. for hors d’oeuvres in the high school atrium, which is filled with all-age student art projects produced over the school year in painting, sculpture, drawing and photography. Small musical groups will also play in the atrium until 7 p.m. The auditorium show will run from 7-9 p.m. Admission for the evening will be $3 each, or $10 per family.

Collage is produced by Suttons Bay Schools’ arts faculty members Margaret Lott, Annie Morey, Scott Tompkins, Kathleen Hoagg and Barb Attwood.

Proceeds benefit the Friends of the Fine Arts at Suttons Bay Schools, which makes numerous fine arts opportunities available to students during the school year.

Included are in-school concerts by local musicians, a high school band mentoring program, violin exploration for elementary students, African drumming for middle school, and Creative Arts Day for all high school students.

Further information is available by calling 271-4983.
