Bethany Lutheran Church in Northport is celebrating its 90th anniversary this year with guest pastor visits and events culminating in a day-long celebration on Aug. 24.

The church hosted guest pastors David Mann on April 6 and James Bischoff on April 27. Following is a schedule of guest pastors for the summer:
• June 15, honoring the Rev. Raymond Heine.
• June 22, the Rev. Dale Mitchell.
• July 27, the Rev. Andy Jones.
• Aug. 10, the Rev. Fred Overdier.
• Aug. 17, the Rev. Paul Kuhlman.
• Aug. 24, Bishop John D. Schleicher.

The church will also host a hymn sing on May 25 at 7 p.m., and an anniversary quilt is being worked on by congregation members. A display of the church’s history will be set up in the church basement in August.

On Sunday, Aug. 24 after the last service of the day, a potluck lunch/dinner will be held at Peterson Park. A pig roast, grilled hotdogs and hamburgers will be offered, and paper products and beverages will be supplied. Those participating are asked to bring a dish to pass. There will be hayrides, music, horsehoes, a Bible scavenger hunt, beach walks and other fun events.
