A 57-year-old Lake Leelanau man was found dead at his home Friday evening, the result of a self-inflicted gunshot wound.
County Sheriff’s deputies and fire and rescue personnel from Leland Township were called to the home of James A. Gleason Friday at 9:11 p.m. According to Undersheriff Scott L. Wooters, Gleason was found behind his house at 85 N. Lake Leelanau Dr. with a fatal gunshot wound to the head. Wooters said there were no witnesses.
Gleason was known as an avid fisherman and sportsman. A memorial service will be held at St. Mary Church in Lake Leelanau Friday at 11 a.m.
