Glen Lake News

The Republican Lincoln Day dinner was held Friday at the Mountain Flowers Lodge at The Homestead. The facility is very nice and the service was great. I’m sure everyone attending had a good time until the end. When it was time to leave, the sky opened up and it was raining in torrents. Everyone was soaked.

Congratulations to Karen Soderholm on the success and the new location of her business. They now have beautiful offices in Building 50 at the former state hospital grounds in Traverse City.

A special happy birthday wish to Margaret “Sis” Miller. She will be 97 years old and she still lives alone on Big Glen. I hope you have a great day.

The Glen Lake Woman’s Club will hold its next meeting on Wednesday, May 7 at noon. The meeting will be held at the Glen Lake Community Church and the program will feature E. Gail Robinson, who will talk on why “Laughter Matters.” It is said that this program will benefit anyone who wants to laugh, release stress and add more joy to their life and the lives of others. Seems to me that would cover a lot of people.

Speedy recovery wishes to long-time resident Mary Rader. Hope to see you walking around soon.

Members of the Glen Arbor Women’s Club took CPR classes at the Glen Arbor Emergency Services building. The instructor was Andrew Anthony, who I was told did an outstanding job.

Just a note: Adriane Kokowicz didn’t hurt her foot, as I was previously told. I’m happy for her but will never trust my source again.

Think warm.

Go Sox.
