James A. Gleason

1951-2008

A memorial Mass will be held Friday, May 2, at 11 a.m. at St. Mary’s Parish in Lake Leelanau for James Allen Gleason of Lake Leelanau who died April 25 at his home. He was 57.

He was born March 27, 1951, in Traverse City, the son of the late Harry and Lucille (Plamondon) Gleason.

As a young man he served in the Marine Corps in Vietnam. After his service he was active in the Little Finger VFW Post #7731 in Lake Leelanau. He loved the Leelanau outdoors, enjoyed hikes, and was an avid fisherman and hunter.

He is survived by his two sons, Matthew Gleason of Rockford and Jason Gleason of Seattle; his siblings, Allen, Gary and Bob Gleason, Mary Bergen, Shirley Parrish and Judy Bonds; and three grandchildren.

He was also preceded in death by a brother, Greg.
