Regular Meeting Synopsis
April 15, 2008

Supervisor Soderholm called the regular meeting of the Township Board to order at 7:30 PM, in the Glen Arbor Town hall meeting room. Trustee Kelly absent. The Pledge of Allegiance was recited. The agenda was presented and approved as amended by motion. Board reviewed 08-09 budget. Motion to approve 08-09 Budget with changes carried unanimously. Motion to approve Resolution #6-2008 General Appropriation Act with roll call vote: all aye. Motion to adopt Levy of 1% Administration Fee carried unanimously. Minutes of regular meeting 03/18/2008 were approved by motion. Minutes of Special meeting 3/20/08 not approved until further clarification. Public Comment – none. Leelanau County Sheriff Report by Deputy Rocky Cadieux. Treasurer’s report - cash on hand of $2,366,231.52. Bills for the General Fund for $48,232.34 and Emergency Services for $67,069.95 were approved by motion. Final payment to assessors, W.A.S. LLC, for reassessment project. Emergency Services Advisory Commission reports resignation of a full time EMT/FF. Hiring process is ongoing. Empire contract signed. Kasson did not sign and will be removed. Leelanau School sent dormitory plans. National Park Service is planning a burn and will contact Township first. Chief Dodson updated Board on search for new ambulance. Purchase will hopefully be made before next May meeting. Three permits issued per Zoning Admin. Hawley. Correspondence received. Empire Service contract signed by Empire. Rejected by Kasson Township. Fund Raising Committee for public restrooms/garden area is being formed. Fred Missad appointed to Board of Review by motion. By motion, Rehmann Robson hired for Glen Arbor audit. Motion to review miniature golf course site plan with special attention to snack bar bus. Meeting adjourned at 9:25 PM. Election Commission called to order 9:26 PM Motion to appoint Dana Roman, Chairman, Beth Bricker, Linda Gretzema, Annette Lewis and Dorothy Thompson as election workers for May 6, 2008.
