Forty Five North Winery & Vineyard of Suttons Bay earned four top awards at the Pacific Rim International Wine Competition held April 23-24 in San Bernardino, Calif.

Winemaker Shawn Walters said Forty Five North earned a double-gold for its Riesling, which was also named the best white wine of the competition overall. A double-gold was also awarded to the local winery for the best Cabernet Franc over $20.

The winery also was recognized with a double gold as the best rose’ for its Pinot Noir rose’.

Forty Five North Winery & Vineyard’s tasting room is now under construction on Horn Road. Walters said he’s hopeful the tasting room will be open by sometime in July.
