Traverse Area Recreation and Transportation (TART) Trails, Inc. will host "bicycling commuting" classes in Traverse City Thursday, May 22 and June 12 at Northwestern Michigan College.

Reuben Chapman of Empire, a League of American Bicyclist certified instruction, will teach the course that will cover riding with traffic, signaling, bike attire and gear, choosing routes, and more. The interactive course will include a short bike ride on main roads, peripheral streets, bike lanes and on trails. The goal of the class is to educate and encourage proper bicycling handling and increase the level of comfort of bicycle commuters.
