Zackary Gilmore Weber graduated from the University of Michigan April 26 with a bachelor of arts degree in English and history. He was the recipient of honors and a 2006 Avery Hopwood award winner for poetry.

A former resident of Leelanau County and grandson of Barbara Gilmore Weber of Northport, Weber attended The Leelanau School, where he received the Philp Cochran writing award in 2003 and graduated as valedictorian in 2004.

He will attend the U-M Law School this fall.
