Doug Stanton, local author and co-founder of the Traverse City Film Festival, will speak at the May 21 meeting of the Leelanau County chapter of the Michigan Association of Retired School Personnel (MARSP).
Stanton, author of In Harm’s Way, will speak on “The Founding and Future of the Traverse City Film Festival” at the Bluebird in Leland.
Local chapter delegates to the May 20 area MARSP conference in Gaylord will report on retiree legislation and health issues at the meeting.
Cost of the noon luncheon is $11, including meal and gratuity. Reservations are required by May 19 and may be completed by calling Emma Stayer at 271-3689.
MARSP meets the third Wednesday of each month from May through October. All Michigan retired school employees are welcome.
