Suttons Bay resident Ruth M. Schaub was installed as president of the Michigan Association of Legal Professionals at their 47th annual education conference in Lansing Saturday, May 3.
Schaub, a trial paralegal with the firm of Parsons, Ringsmuth, Zelenock, PLC, has over 22 years experience in personal injury and civil rights litigation. She is the fourth person from the Grand Traverse area and the first from Leelanau County to serve as president of the organization.
Schaub was installed by past association President Sheri Bowden of Cedar Spring while her husband John held the family Bible and her sons, Kalkaska County Sheriff Deputy Kevin of Mancelona, Bradley of Lumbard, Ill., and their wives, Kelly Schaub and Jessica (Korson) Schaub, looked on. Her employers, Jay Zelenock and Jennifer Berry, were also in attendance as well as local process server Scott Gray.
Schaub was also the keynote speaker at the certification luncheon earlier that day as she is the current National Certification Board chair overseeing the committee responsible for three national certification examinations.
She will serve as president of the group until the next annual meeting scheduled for late April 2009 at the Amway Grand Plaza in Grand Rapids.
