1917-2008

Services were held April 26 at the Leelanau Township Fire Hall in Northport for Elvena G. Lord of Northport who died April 25 at Tendercare of Leelanau. She was 90.

She was born May 20, 1917, in Detroit, the daughter of Frank and Ozella (Palmer) McDonald. She was married to Tryon T. Fedorick until he died in 1960. She was married to Fred E. Lord until he died in 1974.

She and her first husband had six children together. She and her second husband ran a hand-woven fabrics business until his death. An accomplished weaver, she moved her business to Northport in 1980 and continued running the business until her retirement. She was a member of the Leelanau Memorial Hospital Auxiliary.

She is survived by her children, Dorothy G. (George) Irvine, Mitchell H. (Chris) Fedorick, Dianne (David) Hood, Douglas W. Fedorick and Deborah A. (Mike) Dykstra; a sister, Thelma L. (Edward) Reich; 18 grandchildren and 22 great-grandchildren.

She was also preceded in death by a son, Tryon T. Fedorick.
