Empire Township Notice to the Public
Board Minutes

The following is a synopsis of the May 13, 2008 regular meeting of the Empire Township Board. A complete copy of the minutes may be obtained by contacting the Clerk.
Supervisor Bolton called the meeting to order at 7:30 p.m. Members present: Deering, Neiswonger, Pendleton, and Noonan. Minutes of the 04-08-08 regular meeting and the 04-24-08 special meeting were approved.
Treasurer and Planning reports were heard. Campground Report: The new manager will start 5-18-08.
Supervisor Report: Supervisor explained that since a request for a Zoning Board of Review interpretation re: the Dune Grass Festival has been received, the board will take no action on the Dune Grass Festival possible relocation to a parcel in the township.
Township Supervisor and the Zoning Administrator will look into resident Bill Peyton’s zoning concerns re: the Glen Lake Marine Service business.
Actions approved by motions: 1) Approved the Supervisor requesting an appeal from the County Inspections department re: the fire hall renovation sprinkler system. 2) Approved the Supervisor signing the fire hall renovation construction contract with County Renovation, Inc. 3) Approved entering into the merger contract with Glen Arbor Township for EMS and fire services. 4) Paid monthly bills.
Meeting was adjourned at 8:37 p.m.
