1928-2008

Funeral services were held Monday in Traverse City for Leelanau County native Clara L. Crain who died May 29 at Bortz Health Care in Traverse City. She was 80.

She was born on Jan. 26, 1928, in Leelanau County, the daughter of Paul and Clara (Lamie) Plamondon. Her husband, Donald L. Crain, preceded her in death.

She was known for making beautiful corsages, a lifelong hobby. She was a member of the Little Finger VFW Post Auxiliary in Lake Leelanau.

She is survived by her children, Gale (Daniel) Kiessel of Traverse City, Karen Annis of Grawn, James Poulin of Traverse City; a brother, Mark; six grandchildren and 10 great-grandchildren; step-children; Sheryl (Ed) Rosesch of Florida, Terry Crain of Texas, Douglas Crain of Traverse City, Bradley (Lisa) Crain of North Carolina; five step-grandchildren and one step great-grandchild.

She was also preceded in death by her daughter, Bonnie Shea; her siblings, Louis, Earl, George, Walter, Edward and Robert Plamondon, Sophia Brzezinski, Lucille Gleason and Isabelle Ansorge.

Burial was to be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorial contributions may be directed to the Salvation Army.
