1939-2008
Cremation has taken place and a memorial service will be announced at a later date for Maple City native Carolyn Virginia “Terri” Elsenheimer of Cheboygan who died June 9 at Cheboygan Memorial Hospital. She was 69.
She was born March 15, 1939, in Maple City, the daughter of Lee Orville and Ruth (Hulbert) Smith. Her husband of 48 years, Eugene Elsenheimer, survives.
She was a 1958 graduate of Glen Lake Community High School, married her high school sweetheart, and supported his career as a game warden. She enjoyed gardening and caring for abandoned animals.
Also surviving are her two daughters, Cindy Lou (Greg) Pate of Tennessee and Jill Elaine Elsenheimer of Florida; a son, Mattthew Eugene Elsenheimer; a brother, Keith Smith of Arizona; four sisters, Thelma Dennis of Wisconsin, Grace Baum of Florida, Sandra Svec of Interlochen and Janet Zywicki of Traverse City; a half brother, Robert Smith of Traverse City; and two grandsons.
Memorial donations may be directed to the Alzheimer’s Association.
