1931-2008

Services were held June 21 at Bayview Wesleyan Church in Traverse City for Francis "Wayne" Groesser of Bingham Township who died June 15 at Munson Medical Center. He was 77.

He was born March 28, 1931, in Traverse City, the son of the late Francis “Raymond” and Elda (Hinshaw) Groesser. On June 21, 1969, in Traverse City, he married Sally Lou Rasho, who survives.

He served in the Air Force during the Korean War. He enjoyed bowling as a young man and was an avid sportsman who enjoyed hunting and fishing. He took pride in his garden and his raspberry and vegetable stand at his Bingham home.

He is also survived by his 10 children, Gary (Doreen), Jeff (Erin), Judy Deschenes, John (Betsy), Kevin (Lori), Debbie (John) Lincoln, Dya (Aaron) Fisher, Frances “Duane,” Scott (Heather) and Dawn (Adam) Agbisit; three sisters, Loretta (Harry) Sanborn, Judy Petroskey and Marsha (Bob) Walton; and 27 grandchildren.

Burial was to be in Grand Traverse Memorial Gardens. Memorials may be directed to the family and/or the charity of one’s choice.
