Ferry contract is extended

Manitou Island Transit has inked another 10-year contract with the National Park Service to provide ferry service from Leland to the Manitou Islands within the Sleeping Bear Dunes National Lakeshore.

Teacher workshops focus on reptiles and amphibians

Area middle and high school teachers, environmental professionals and college students in education and biology will have an opportunity to learn about Michigan's amphibians and reptiles through two summer workshops being offered this month.

Clay-working classes slated
