Anyone interested in learning how to create compost is encouraged to attend a two-day "master composter" workshop being offered through the county's Michigan State University Extension.
The workshop will take place July 25-26 at the Northwest Michigan Horticultural Research Station in Bingham Township. According to information provided by the Extension office, participants will learn how to recycle organic materials into a usable soil additive that provides micronutrients to soil and protects plants from water and soil loss.
There is a cost for the two-day workshop. To register and for more information, call 256-9888.
