The public is invited to attend an "Inland Seas Homecoming" event celebrating the Great Lakes on Saturday from 10 a.m. to 4 p.m. on the waterfront at the Inland Seas Education Center in Suttons Bay.

The event will feature food, music, exhibits and family activities all day. Tours of the schooner Inland Seas, the sloops Welcome and Liberty, as well as the motor vessels Bay Monitor and Lightkeeper, will be offered. Live music will be provided by the group Song of the Lakes.

Admission will be free. The event is being sponsored by the Fishtown Preservation Society, Great Lakes Bioneers, Great Lakes Lighthouse, Great Lakes Water Studies Institute, Northwestern Michigan College, Leelanau Conservancy, Maritime Heritage Alliance; Michigan Sea Grant, South Fox Lighthouse, and The Watershed Center, Grand Traverse Bay.
