A painter's view of northern Michigan's landscapes and waters is the theme of an exhibition of 26 oil paintings by Peggy Hawley at Lake Street Studios in Glen Arbor.
The show opens Friday with an artist's reception at 6 p.m. in the gallery, 6023 S. Lake St., and is open to the public.
“I want the paintings to be a memory of a moment here — seeing a farm while rounding a bend in the road, hearing the waves as they touch the shore,” said Hawley, who lives in Frankfort. “I’ve included local landscapes, water views, orchards and historical buildings, some in the Sleeping Bear Dunes.”
Hawley’s show of atmospheric oils runs through July 24. For more information, call 334-3179.
