Supervisor, James Neve called the meeting to order at 7:00PM.
Board members present: James Neve, Denise Dunn, Deb Van Pelt and Gary Fredrickson
Victor Goldschmidt excused absence.
Also present: five citizens and two staff members.
No Public Comment.
Agenda set as amended.
Approved minutes of June 10, 2008 as amended.
Approved minutes of July 1, 2008 Special Board Meeting as amended.
Approved Current Bills in the amount of $51,426.46.
Heard reports from Fire Department; Pat Burguard for Hugh Cook, NEMS; Pat Burguard.
Supervisor Neve opened the Public Hearing at 7:14PM. The purpose of the Public Hearing was for the creation of a Proposed Sanitary Sewer Special Assessment District for Timber Shores. Public Comments and questions were heard from Marsha Buehler, Barbara Webber and Gary Fredrickson. The Supervisor closed the Public Hearing at 7:30PM.
Approved a resolution for the establishment of a sewer special assessment district for Timber Shores.
Adopted an ordinance to amend the Leelanau Township Zoning Ordinance, Article 14 – Planned Unit Development, with adjunct housekeeping amendments to Article 1 – Introductions, Article 2 – Definitions, Article 11 – Site Plan Review, and repeal all other ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith.
Adopted an ordinance to amend the Leelanau Township Zoning Ordinance by amendment of Article 2 – Definitions, Article 3 – Land Use Districts, Article 10 – Administration, Permits and Appeals, Article 12 - Special Land Uses, Article 14 – Planned Unit Developments, Article 15 – Environmentally Sensitive Areas and by the repeal of all ordinances or parts of ordinances in conflict herewith, with amended changes, at Board request, to Waterfront Setback Datum.
Approved the change of fire fighter status for Mike Berendsohn from probationary to active.
Approved the purchase of a used Woods field mower for $3,500 from Gillison’s Fabrication, Inc. Approved repairs to the Omena Fire Hall by Detweiler Construction Inc. for the amount $1,800.
Approved purchase and installation of a roof mounted exhaust fan for the Township Library from Cook Enterprises for $1,095.
Approved authorizing the Clerk to send a letter authorizing Michigan Blue Cross Blue Shield to recognize Riske, Brown and Associates as Leelanau Township’s agent of record for the Township’s health insurance.
