Several businesses from Leelanau County will be among the participants in the Traverse City Chocolate Festival.

The event will be held at the Traverse City Opera House Sunday from 1 to 5 p.m. Proceeds will benefit 30 regional food banks supported by the Northwest Michigan Community Action Agency.

Tickets are $15, which entitles attendees to samplings of confections from several area chocolate-makers, including the Grocer’s Daughter Chocolate of Empire. In addition, wine and spirits will be available for tasting. County vintners who will be participating include Ciccone Vineyard & Winery, Shady Lane Cellars, Black Star Farms, Forty-Five North Vineyard & Winery, Good Neighbor Organic Vineyard & Winery, Leelanau Cellars, and Bell Lago Vineyards Winery.

Chocolate-making demonstrations and live music will also be included, and door prizes will be given away every half hour.

Tickets are available from participating “chocolatiers” and at the door. For more information, visit www.TCChocolateFest.com.
