AJ and Emily Penninga of Grand Rapids have announced the birth of a son, Walter Jesse Penninga, born April 11 in Grand Rapids.

Walter weighed 8 lbs., 9 oz. and measured 21 inches in length.

Grandparents are Alan and Nancy Spinniken of Lake Leelanau and Tom and Kay Penninga of Grand Rapids.

Carol Spinniken of Lake Leelanau is the baby’s great-grandmother.
