To the Editor:

If the Dixieland Jazz didn’t do it, the wafting of the incredible chocolate desserts throughout the lobby of the Northport Community Arts Center clearly got you in the mood at the annual benefit for the Leelanau Children’s Center on Saturday night.

Sponsored by the Northport Lions Club and the Best for Kids committee, the concert featured “The Back Room Gang” and a silent auction of 25 delectable desserts created by local chocolatiers.

Of course, this event could not have happened without the generous community support that demonstrated once again that children matter — to all of us.
