To the Editor:

It would be remiss of me to not respond to the misinformation and the lack of clarity in Mr. Baird’s letter to the Enterprise of 7/12.

Let’s go to the President’s record of accomplishments: I will name a few of the more notable: Affordable Health Care Act; Lilly Ledbetter Bill, which advances women’s rights in the workplace; repeal of Don’t Ask Don’t Tell; and, expanded health care for children.

Additionally, he signed the Hate Crimes bill; saved the auto industry; disposed of Osama bin Laden; over-hauled the credit card industry; ended the war in Iraq; and, reducing troop levels in Afghanistan, preparing to end the war. Removing greed from our free enterprise system? Does that mean excessive executive pay and profits in the financial and health insurance industry? Off shore tax avoidance by the wealthy (Mr. Romney included)? Excessive defense costs? Closing companies and laying off workers? Saving costs by sending companies overseas?

Individual gun ownership is not affected with the signing of the International Arms Treaty. (Go to www.snopes.com). The President has never advocated gun control; spreading this misinformation is pure fabrication.

President Obama is advocating tax cuts for the vast middle class.

We are in the process of irreversibly “fouling our own nest.” The sooner we stop allowing corporations such those owned by the Koch Brothers (and their desire to bisect our country with a pipeline), the sooner we can work on alternative energy.

Mr. Baird, you are entitled to your opinions, but not to your own facts.
