To the Editor:

I am writing to endorse Mark Walter for County Sheriff.

Mark and I served together in the Army National Guard nearly 20 years. Mark continually impressed me and earned my respect in that time. He is a veteran with a superb record of service.

His unit mobilized in 2004, and he left his family to spend a year sharing his experience and expertise in Corrections Management at the detention center in Guantanamo Cuba.

Mark’s leadership and drive to succeed set him apart from his peers. I think he will make a great Sheriff.
