Lab distracted driver; ticket issued for accident
A 17-year-old Northport woman was ticketed following a one-car accident Sunday that left her passenger hospitalized.
Raechel Craker was northbound on Cherry Bend Road about 11:45 a.m. when her vehicle left the roadway to the right, rolled and ejected she and a passenger, Shelden Parker, 17, of Suttons Bay, according to Undersheriff Scott Wooters.
Craker said she was distracted by a black Lab puppy in her lap, Wooters. Both she and Parker were transported by ambulance to Munson Medical Center, where Craker was treated and released. Parker was listed in fair condition Monday at noon.
Craker was issued a ticket for “careless driving,” Wooters added.
