Edward Leo Fleese 1918-2012
A Mass from the Order of Christian Funerals was celebrated Friday at St. Catherine’s Catholic Church in Ravenna for former county resident Edward Leo Fleese of Grant who died Sunday, July 8.
He was 94.
Ed was born June 18, 1918 in Leelanau County to Joseph H. and Catherine L. (Witkowski) Fleese. He married Gladys L. (Wickham) Fleese on May 9, 1941 at Niagara Falls.
Ed served in the United States Military during WWII.
He is survived by four sons: Roger (Paula) Fleese of Ravenna, Doug Fleese Sr. of Newaygo, Darrell Fleese of Grand and John (Pearl) Fleese of Conklin; three daughters: Janet (Louis) Wellman of Moorland, Mich., Pam Fleese of Sand Lake and Lisa Redmon of Twin Lake; 30 grandchildren and 34 great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Ed was preceded in death by his wife, Gladys; two sons Randy and Ron Fleese; one daughter, Sandra Leeball; two brothers John and Raymond and three sisters, Vergie, Ellis and Jennie.
