Art Fair may have been the busiest
I don’t think anyone who was in Glen Arbor last week will deny the fact that this had to be the busiest Glen Lake Women’s Club Art Fair. Not only were parking spaces at a premium on July 18, but walking was a bit tough, also.
Unfortunately with the crowd comes some problems, one of them thieves. Two women were working the retailers in G.A. They stole merchandise and money from the Cotton Seed. It is probable that they also hit a few other retailers.
The latest winners of the Empire Lion’s Club Lucky Thirteen drawings were last week, Lance Roman and this week Barry Bennett, both of Empire.
The Slack family is pretty proud of the fact that daughter Tess has been accepted at Interlochen. Congratulations.
I have a question for all of you out there, or possibly both of you reading this little ditty. Any way I saw something I wasn’t sure of last week, and my granddaughter told me that it is a thing made out of a candle and a paper bag. This thing was floating from the beach area across the sky into the forest area. My question is wouldn’t it be logical that during a drought it would be a no brainer to float a lit candle into the forest.
Get well wishes to a long time resident and friend to many in the area, Marge Ives who has suffered a stroke. Cards would be appreciated to pick her up a little bit and let her know people care. Her address is P.O. Box 457, G.A. 49636.
Happy Birthday wishes to Linda Gretzema.
Happy Anniversary wishes to Stacey and Richard Wilcox.
This hot weather has sent everyone to the lakes and the beaches. One of the problems is the public beach at the end of Lake Street where the boats launch.
The boats coming and going are not able to see heads bobbing in the water and they are attempting to get to the dock. It is very hard to miss some one who refuses to get out of the way.
Keep in mind these boats cannot stop on a dime. I would suggest using your head for something other than a boat anchor and get out of the way, also the dock is for the boats, give them the right of way.
We keep trying, Go Sox.
