The number of building permits issued this year ties last year for the lowest since 2008. However, the value of those permits is the highest since 2008.

Seven additional permits were issued by the county Construction Code Authority in the past two weeks, bringing the year-to-date (YTD) total to 152, unchanged from last year. The value of the permits ($731,690) brings the seven-month YTD total to $14,267,201. This is the highest total since 2008 when the permits issued by this date was $20,090,042.

The figure edges out the 2009 tally by a mere $87,728. That year 177 had been issued by the final week in July. The five-year permit high was 186 in 2008.
