Fishtown 5K set for Saturday

The fourth annual Friends of Fishtown 5K run will be held Saturday in Leland.

The race starts at 9 a.m. in historic Fishtown. Participants are welcome to run or walk and strollers and leashed dogs welcome.

Refreshments and food will be provided after the race and an award ceremony will take place at 10:15 a.m.

In addition, doctors and massage therapists from Community Chiropractic Health Center in Lake Leelanau will be on site to provide massage/muscle work before and after the race. There will be no charge for their services, but they do encourage donations to Fishtown Preservation.

Top runners will receive Friends of Fishtown 5K aluminum net floats.

Entry fee is $25 through 5 p.m. Friday. Entry fee on race day is $30. Entry can be made electronically by visiting the Fishtown Preservation website, www.fishtown.mi.org by stopping by the FPS office at 203 E. Cedar Street in Leland.
